Q. What are your refund and cancellation policies?
guaranteeA. Our refund policy for each of our products and services is simple and designed to give you complete confidence and assurance. If you join the Bull Pen and decide — for any reason — that it is not right for you or not what you expected, you may cancel your membership any time.

Q. Do you only work with independent professionals?
A. The Bull Pen is best suited to businesses where the success of the business is largely dependent on the input of one or a small group of key individuals. Examples include consultants, advisors, salespeople, coaches, advertising and marketing specialists, event planners, accountants, lawyers and other independent professionals in the service industry. Together with our team of copywriter/consultants, we also work with larger companies (including major multinationals), but they are often better served by separate, retainer and project-based contracts.

Q. Why do you recommend a 6 month commitment?
A. It takes time to get the clarity you need for the business you want. I have found that 6 months is about right for you to evaluate whether or not the program is a success.

Q. Can I really cancel any time?
A. Yes absolutely. We don’t want anyone in the Bull Pen who isn’t completely happy to be there.

Q. Are the Bull Pen fees like a retainer?
A. No. Bull Pen fees pay for your membership in a community of successful and seasoned consultants, coaches, advisors and other independent professionals. Plus, your membership gives you access to one-on-one ‘consoaching’ sessions and some extremely useful online tools in the private members’ area of the website.

Q. What’s ‘consoaching’?
A. A ‘pure’ coach is trained to help you find the answers yourself, but will never offer advice. While this is extremely valuable in many situations, it can also be frustating for the client when a transfer of knowledge is what’s needed. Pure consulting is limited because consultants come up with the answers (usually at a high price) with no skills transfer and no accountability. Consoaching is a blend between the two extremes.

Q. What if I don’t use my membership — can I get a refund?
A. If you don’t read the newspaper one day, would you expect the publication to refund you a day’s worth of reading? Sorry, no refunds. It’s your responsibility to use everything the Bull Pen has to offer.

Q. If I don’t use all the services of the Bull Pen, is it still worth joining?
A. Different people will find different services more useful than others. It’s a sad reflection on society that many people measure the value by what they don’t use, rather than what they genuinely get out of what they do use. We truly believe that the Bull Pen offers soooooooo much value that even if you take advantage of 1/10th it would still be worth it for you. Try it. You can cancel any time.

Q. OK I give up… why a Bull Pen?
A. In the olden days of advertising (ie: before computers) all the major ad agencies had a big open space in their offices that they called the Bull Pen. This is where the production designers and layout artists cranked out the magazine ads, the corporate brochures and the retail flyers. The emphasis wasn’t on theory — it was on doing what works. Doing what works. That’s what we do in the Bull Pen.

Q. Can you adapt your material for an in-house corporate program?
A. Maybe. The right program for your company needs might include any or all of the following: internal workshop training, one-on-one consulting & coaching and meeting facilitation and brainstorming. To discuss if this would be helpful to you, please call 416 534-4766.

Q. Hey What’s up with the arrowheads???
A. We love it when we get asked that question because it allows us to describe the story behind our approach and how you use it to discover your Essential Message. For the response to this question, link to E-ssential Message #28!
